Dwayne Howell Obituary

Dwayne Rodrico Howell, born on November 21, 1965, in the vibrant city of Chicago, left this world on April 15, 2024, in Hawthorne, CA, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and warmth. For 40 years he called Hacienda Heights, CA his home, though he also held a special place in the heart of La Puente, CA as a longtime resident. Dwayne's life was one marked by service, community, and a deep love for his family.

He attended Workman High School, where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of learning and personal growth. Dwayne proudly served his country as a member of the United States Military, embodying values of honor, courage, and commitment throughout his service. Beyond his military duties, he generously volunteered his time as a Hacienda Heights Youth Softball Coach, imparting not just sporting skills but also invaluable life lessons to the young athletes he guided. His impact extended far beyond the field, shaping the character and future of those under his tutelage.

Dwayne's love for sports wasn't confined to coaching; he was also an avid basketball enthusiast. Whether he was shooting hoops with friends or cheering on his favorite teams, his love for the game was infectious and brought joy to all who shared his passion. Music was another of Dwayne's great loves, particularly R&B and Motown, which filled his life with rhythm and soulful melodies.

Dwayne's former spouse, Dora Howell, shared in his joys and sorrows, leaving behind a legacy of shared memories. They nurtured a beautiful family, including his son Dwayne and wife Audrey, their children Charlotte and Maddison, son Quinten with his wife Jessica, their children, and daughter Krystyna and her son King Domonic, the lights of his life and brought him immeasurable pride and happiness.

Dwayne's circle of love extended to his siblings as well. His sister, Lizette Driver, and brother, Quincy Howell, their spouses, Lamar and Laura, were embraced as cherished members of the family, adding depth and richness to their collective experiences.

In recognition of Dwayne's unwavering devotion to his loved ones, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to support them during this difficult time. The outpouring of love and support from friends and family will serve as a comforting reminder of the profound impact Dwayne had on all who knew him.

As we bid farewell to Dwayne Howell, we take solace in the knowledge that his love, kindness, and dedication will continue to reverberate through the lives of those he touched. Though he may have departed this world, his spirit remains eternally present in the cherished memories and the enduring legacy he leaves behind.
